Aaron McQuade

Aaron McQuade (he/him) is Communications Manager at Activating Change where he works on storytelling, messaging, and narrative development and maintains Activating Change’s web and social media presence. Before joining Activating Change he was Communications Manager for Humanity United, overseeing communications for the foundation’s Forced Labor & Human Trafficking portfolio, and Associate Director of Communications for the California Association of Public Hospitals and Health Systems, advocating for healthcare for low-income Californians. Before that he worked in education advocacy for the Partnership for Children & Youth in Oakland, CA, and did national LGBTQ+ advocacy work at GLAAD.

Prior to his advocacy career, Aaron was a radio producer and news anchor at SiriusXM in New York, and an author and editor of children’s literature textbooks. He is originally from Providence, Rhode Island. He studied theater at Rhode Island College and Psychology at Oregon State University.
